How Coaching Works

Here is an overview of how the life coaching process works:

  1. Initial Consultation: Let's meet to discuss your goals, expectations, and any concerns you may have!

  2. Setting Goals: Once we have established rapport, we will work together to identify and clarify your goals, set achievable objectives, and develop a realistic timeline for achieving them.

  3. Action Planning: Once your goals are clearly defined, we will develop an action plan to achieve them!

  4. Coaching Sessions: Regular coaching sessions will be scheduled to help you stay on track and make progress towards your goals. These sessions may take place in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing, depending on your preference and location.

  5. Accountability: One of the key benefits of working with a life coach is the accountability I provide. I will hold you accountable for following through on your action plan and making progress towards your goals.

  6. Evaluation and Reflection: Throughout the coaching process, we will periodically evaluate your progress and reflect on your achievements to help you stay focused on your goals and continue to make progress towards them.

Christian Coaching

Why Christian Life Coaching?

Working with a life coach can be helpful and empowering! But why work with a Christian life coach?

  1. You will have the opportunity to work with a coach who understands the tenants of the Christian faith tradition and why they matter.

  2. The Christian faith will be centered in the work you do with life a coach and will be integrated in your wellness goals.

  3. Your Christian beliefs and experiences will be assessed and explored to understand where you are in your faith journey and see the beliefs that are truly helpful and empowering to you verses those that may be limiting and burdensome.

  4. You will have the opportunity to identify and address the difficulties that get in the way of you living an abundant life as Christ promised. Your Christian coach will assist you in being aligned so you can have clarity, walk light, and experience an abundant life.

A Note on Life Coaching vs. Therapy

Participating in life coaching is not the same as seeing a therapist. Therapy addresses and heals areas of life that are significantly impacted while coaching focuses on enhancing the quality of life without unpacking past experiences and pains. A life coach offers insight and motivation for change while a therapist (e.g., psychologist, social worker, marriage and family therapist) provides treatment to provide support on various and potentially long-standing issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, eating-related disorders, and complex relationship issues.
